UNIVERSITY of NSW astrophysics lecturer Dr Jonty Marshall will be a special guest at the Macarthur Astronomical Society’s first forum of the year to be held on Monday.
The talk will examine the polarisation of starlight as a tool to investigate circumstellar dust.
Dr Marshall’s primary research interest is circumstellar dust discs as evidence of planetary systems around mature, main-sequence stars.
The talk on Monday, January 18, will begin at 7.30pm. It will be held at building 30 at Western Sydney University, Campbelltown Campus.
