Rolling Stones Drop Unreleased Track Featuring Jimmy Page

Unreleased Rolling Stones

Long time fans of The Stones would be likely to know almost every song they’ve released since the early 60’s. As part of the 2020 reissue of their 1973 album ‘Goats Head Soup’, The Stones are including three previously unreleased and unheard tracks – one featuring guitarist Jimmy Page.

Listen to the new track ‘Scarlet’ below!

‘Scarlet’ was recorded in October 1974. Mick Jagger remembers “first jamming this with Jimmy and Keith in Ronnie’s basement studio. It was a great session.”

According to Keith, including Jimmy Page on the track came about because the Stones had been booked into the studio right after Led Zeppelin;

“My recollection is we walked in at the end of a Zeppelin session. They were just leaving and we were booked in next and I believe that Jimmy decided to stay. We weren’t actually cutting it as a track, it was basically for a demo, a demonstration, you know, just to get the feel of it, but it came out well, with a line up like that, you know, we better use it.” – Keith Richards
