Australia Day

Australia Day is a day to reflect on what it means to be Australian, to celebrate contemporary Australia and to acknowledge our history.
Here’s a list of events happening in our listening area.

PENRITH

Cables Wake Park – Hosted by Penrith Council
Enter via Jamison Rd
10am – 5pm
FREE ENTRY
Waterslides, Jumping Castle, DJ, Water Stunt Shows, Food Vendors plus a Splash pad for kids under 6.
Bring a Picnic (Alcohol, Glass and takeaway food prohibited.)

Penrith Homemaker Centre

10am – 3pm
Live DJ, Free Icy Poles & Ice Pops, Sunscreen Station, Cricket Challenges, Temporary Tattoos, Outdoor Aussie Games

Panthers Penrith
3pm – 9:30pm
FREE ENTRY 
Carnival and Water rides, kids disco and activities, Aussie food eating contests, food trucks, petting zoo, Live Entertainment. 

Pioneer Tavern
Corner Maxwell Street and The Northern Rd
10.30am – 4pm 
Come dressed Aussie style and see if you can snag the PRIZE for Best Dressed Aussie Adults and Children! Bistro Lunch Specials for everyone between 11am and 3pm. Kids eat FREE from the Bistro with a purchase of a Main Meal. Train rides, pony rides, unlimited slushies and fairy floss, plaster painting, sand art, face painting, DJ, and jumping castle, all FREE on the day.

GLENBROOK

Glenbrook Australia Day Celebration and 16th Annual Australian Gnome Convention
9am – 3pm
FREE ENTRY
100 market stalls, food stalls, Live entertainment, 2,000 Gnomes on display, events for children, Dog demonstrations, train rides, jumping castle, and more

ST MARYS

St Marys Band Club
10am – 2pm
FREE ENTRY
Magic show, jumping castle, reptile show, mad scientist workshop, face painting, live DJ and giveaways.

St Marys Village Shopping Centre
10am – 2pm
Celebrate Australia Day at St Marys Village with mini Pavlova decorating workshops using fresh toppings. Located in front of Target, join the fun and enjoy an Aussie classic!

CAMDEN

John/Argyle Street – Hosted by Camden Council
9am – 2pm
FREE ENTRY
The event draws thousands of people each year and features busy street activities, food stalls, markets, kid’s entertainment and a street parade.
The Macarthur Lions Parade will commence at 10am on Argyle Street. 
Aussie Eating Competition – how many mangoes and lamingtons can you eat in 5 minutes?
8.15am – Thanksgiving Service – Camden Civic Centre
10am – Macarthur Lions Street Parade – Argyle Street, Camden
11.45am – Australia Day Awards Ceremony – Camden Civic Centre
12.15pm – Citizenship Ceremony – Camden Civic Centre

Camden Valley Inn
10am – 1pm
kids activities on the lawn, Aussie BBQ for lunch, signature sangria and beer jugs.

CAMPBELLTOWN

Koshigaya Park – Hosted by Campbelltown City Council
4pm – 9pm

5pm – 9:30pm
FREE EVENT
Food, rides, activities for the kids, an emergency services display, live music and roving entertainment.
